How We Started
Rick Salk started Take Me Out Pets in 2021 as a way to turn a lifelong love for animals into a full-time calling. After 38 years with the postal service and a career in the U.S. Coast Guard, Rick wanted a retirement centered around the genuine companionship that only pets offer. Based right here in Conimicut, Rhode Island, our family business is built on being reliable and showing up for our neighbors and their pets every single day.
Meet Rick and Cate
We believe your pets deserve someone who actually takes the time to get to know them. Rick has years of experience from his time volunteering at the Warwick Animal Shelter, where he focused on walking dogs and keeping them active. Cate Salk is a retired massage therapist and long-time cat rescue volunteer who provides the patient, quiet care that cats often need. We look after everything from dogs and cats to birds, fish, and reptiles, making sure every animal feels comfortable.
